My name is Demi. I’m currently a research technician at Massachusetts General Hospital, studying glioblastoma and chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapies.

Throughout my life, I have always valued the intrinsic connection between art and science and hope to translate my artistic skills into the medical field.

From studying abroad in Rome, Italy for my Studio Art minor to researching brain cancer at the lab benchtop, my range of studies in both disciplines have driven my aspirations to be a surgical oncologist.

Research Technician I, Suva Laboratory

Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, MA, USA

Broad Institute, MA, Boston, USA

Involved in post baccalaureate research that studies CAR-T cell therapies for brain tumors. Performs in vivo mouse glioblastoma xenograft experiments to evaluate CAR-T cells engineered to target IDH-mutant gliomas. Completes single cell RNA sequencing of cerebrospinal fluid in patients enrolled in an EGFRvIII CAR clinical trial correlate study.

October 2023 – April 2024

Health Unit Coordinator, Pediatric Unit

University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Harrisburg, PA, USA

Maintained unit communication regarding the pediatric department through promptly answering telephones, organizing unit meetings, and distributing patient and unit mail.
